Statutory annual leave entitlement set to increase

The Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR) has reminded firms that the annual leave entitlement for employees is about to change.

The Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR) has reminded firms that the annual leave entitlement for employees is about to change. Statutory leave entitlement will increase from 1 April 2009 under the Working Time Regulations. The new entitlement will rise from 4.8 weeks to 5.6 weeks in the UK. This equates to 28 days per year for employees who work a five day week.
