Small businesses spend almost a sixth of their expenditure on fulfilling tax obligations, according to recent research.
Small businesses spend almost a sixth of their expenditure on fulfilling tax obligations, according to recent research. A survey carried out by business information firm Creditsafe found that small businesses spend 15.7% of their total business expenditure on tax, which is the third highest figure after wages (29%) and investment in stock and materials (17.5%). David Knowles, marketing director for Creditsafe, said: "This tax burden impacts profitability and the levels of investment that can be devoted to other aspects of the business."
