BERR withdraws funding for Pay On Time website
The Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR) has withdrawn its funding for the Pay On Time website.
The site belonged to the Better Payment Action Group (BPAG). The BPAG was set up in 1997 to help improve the payment culture of Britain's businesses, as reported by the Accountancy Age website.
The withdrawal of the funding comes at a time when many small businesses affected by the credit crunch find it hard to get paid on time. Some larger businesses have begun to impose clauses in their contracts allowing them to delay payment for periods of 75 days and beyond.
