Bank of England holds interest rates

The Bank of England has kept interest rates on hold at 5%.

The news comes after the Bank held its latest Monetary Policy Committee meeting.

The move to hold rates was predicted by analysts, who also expect the rate to take a cut next month. However, the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) said a move to cut the rate now would have helped to boost business and consumer confidence.
