Supermarkets to get traffic light food warnings

Supermarkets could be forced to put "traffic light" style health warnings on food packaging in their stores.

A deal to make the system mandatory is being discussed between the Department of Health (DoH), the Food Standards Agency (FSA) and the European Union (EU).

The move is the latest attempt to tackle the growing obesity crises. Currently two thirds of adults and one third of ten-year-olds are regarded as overweight or obese.
