Slips, trips and falls reminder from HSE

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is carrying out spot checks on construction and refurbishment sites across the UK to highlight the need for safe working practices, ahead of its Slips, Trips and Falls campaign.

The HSE visited 10 sites in the Borders and served five prohibition notices for bad practice on working at height. Other spot checks are being carried out at 1000 refurbishment and construction sites across Britain.

The HSE says that unsafe working at height killed 23 construction workers in 2007. The Slips, Trips and Falls campaign starts on 25 February.
