The charter will set out the rights and responsibilities of taxpayers in a single document. The move was announced in Parliament by Financial Secretary to the Treasury Jane Kennedy.

HMRC also plans to consult interested parties on proposed changes to the way it collects tax debts and proposals to ensure tax payers pay the right amount of taxes. Read more about the consultation on the HMRC website.
