Festive sales lowest for three years
UK retailers experienced their worst Christmas period for three years, according to the British Retail Consortium.
While overall sales increased, the 2.5% rise was the worst performance since 2004.
The findings come as the UK's leading retailers continue to report details of their own Christmas trading, which have seen PC World and Land of Leather report profits warnings.
