Consumers prefer in-town shops

New research from analysts Keynote has revealed that consumers prefer to shop in town rather than at out-of-town shopping centres.

In its Research for Shopping Centres report, Keynote found that 61.4% of respondents regularly go shopping in town. Females are most likely to shop in town and regional differences are apparent in the report.

Keynote says that although in-town shopping centres are performing well, there is still great demand for business space in large retail parks.
