Consumers keen on ethically traded products

Research from a UK supermarket has revealed that consumers prioritise ethically traded goods over the impact of climate change.

The Co-Operative Group consulted 100,000 members over a six-month period and found that ethical trading topped an ethical food priority list, as reported by the Retail Bulletin.

Animal welfare was second and the environment was third. Climate change was near the bottom of the list, with just 4% of members placing it as their primary consideration when buying food.
