Software pirate faces ten-year sentence

A British man is faces copyright infringement charges after he was caught selling £12,000 software for just £12 on auction site eBay.

The software was a 3D modelling program, from Debyshire firm AceCad, and is used in the construction of steel structures. The AceCad software licence normally costs between £12,000 and £20,000.

A tip-off to Trading Standards officials led them to raid his Humberside home, where they discovered over 300 fake CDs. He faces up to 10 years in prison if he is found guilty.
