Organic beef producers get raw deal
British producers of organic beef are being short-changed, according to a new report from the Soil Association.
The report, entitled 'Where's the Beef?', reveals that processors and key supermarkets are failing to pay the beef producers enough to cover the costs of production.
The Soil Association says that the current farmgate price of organic beef is not sustainable for producers, and is calling on retailers and processors to up the price they pay by at least 10%.
