Poor websites mean firms miss out

Enterprises in the East of England are losing business because their corporate websites and IT facilities are not good enough, according to the East of England Development Agency (EEDA).

It found 62% of people in the region had been put off buying from a business because of a poor website, while 40% were put off because they could not buy a business' products online.

Just 40% of small firms in the area have websites. EEDA is now investing £2.8 million on a programme of IT support for regional firms, the Eastern Daily Press reported.
