Food prices continue to rise
Shop price inflation has reached its highest rate this year, according to the British Retail Consortium's (BRC) latest figures.
The BRC-Nielsen Shop Price Index (SPI) for November showed a 1.1% year-on-year rise.
The increase was caused by higher food prices - which rose by 4.3% last month - having a knock-on effect on other retail prices.
Non-food prices are down compared to last November, falling by 0.4%. Clothing, footwear, electricals and health and beauty products all fell in price.
