Dial-up Internet connections coming to an end

Just 4% of people will be using dial-up Internet connections by 2010, according to new research.

Lower prices, wide availability and faster connection speeds mean most people will use broadband to go online, price comparison business uSwitch said.

Internet Service Providers (ISPs) such as Orange are stopping offering a dial-up service and providing only broadband, Freelance UK reported.

Recent figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) showed that 88.4% of British Internet connections are now made via broadband.
