Orkney Villages, featuring food and craft enterprises, were set up at the BBC Good Food Show and the Country Living Magazine Christmas Exhibition, Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) said.

Businesses that were represented at the shows said they have seen a surge in interest in their products, including enquiries from a major supermarket, hotels and catering companies.

A Country Living spokesman said:

"Bringing together ten businesses in one feature area provided maximum impact and gave visitors a real taste of Orkney culture."
