Record-breaking online shopping day
Today (Monday) is predicted to be a record-breaking day for online shopping with consumers buying goods worth £370 million online - almost treble the daily average over the last year.
Around 40% of the trade will be outside the main 9am-6pm shopping period, according to the figures from high street bank Abbey.
It said 36% of shoppers planned to buy most of their gifts online, but the average person will spend about six hours 12 minutes looking for presents in three Christmas shopping trips, Ananova reported.
