Eldest children favourites to start new businesses
Big brothers and sisters are more likely to start a business than their younger siblings, according to new research.
The latest Barclays Local Business survey revealed that 41% of Britain's entrepreneurs are the first-born. According to Barclays, first-borns are typically conscientious, organised, high achievers and competitive, which are all desirable traits for running a business.
A Barclays spokesperson said:
"The survey reveals what many people, particularly younger siblings like myself, may have suspected for a long while; when it comes to taking charge, eldest children are more than happy to be the boss!"
