Crackdown on underage drinking in Scotland
Licensed premises in Scotland are being targeted in a bid to stamp out underage drinking.
Police are sending 16-year-olds into pubs and off-licences to see whether they are served alcohol. Those that serve alcohol to the test buyers risk losing their licences.
It follows a pilot project in Fife, where seven premises lost their licences due to the initiative, The Publican reported.
However, the Scottish Beer & Pub Association (SBPA) questioned the timing of the scheme, which comes during the busiest part of the year for bars.
