Online shoppers ignorant of rights and responsibilities
More than half of online Christmas shoppers don't know their basic rights, according to trading standards officials.
The Trading Standards Institute (TSI) and Consumer Direct are issuing advice to improve people's Internet shopping experience during this week's National Consumer Week.
The campaign - Shopping from Afar? Know What Your Rights Are! - has been launched to teach consumers how to cancel an order, how to get a refund and how to check that traders are meeting their legal obligations.
The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) estimated that annual online spending has increased to more than £30 billion.
