More figures point to house price fall

House prices have fallen for the third consecutive month, according to figures from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

The statistics, gleaned from English and Welsh members during October, show the housing slowdown is becoming more pronounced, RICS said.

It found that London was the only area where there was not a fall in prices last month.

RICS said the slowdown was due to higher prices and interest rates, as the unaffordability of homes compared to salaries reached an all-time high, the BBC reported.
