Increased number of broadband connections
Nearly nine out of ten UK Internet connections are now made via broadband, according to new figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
It said 88.4% of all Internet connections in September were through broadband, up from 86.2% in June.
The figures come from a survey of Internet Service Providers (ISPs), which also showed just 11.6% of connections are now via dial up.
