Health and safety law review launched
A major review of health and safety laws that affect small businesses has been launched by Chancellor Alistair Darling.
Business owners, workers and experts are being asked for their views on how the law can be improved to recognise that many smaller firms have limited resources and may have problems working out what their duties are.
Better Regulation Minister Pat McFadden said:
"Government must work smarter to make it easier for employers to follow the rules, as this will benefit everyone and contribute to making our society safer."
The review is being carried out by the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR) and closes on 31 January 2008.
