Firms urged to promote websites
Many businesses are still failing to make the most of cyberspace, according to Microsoft.
The software giant says many small firms are wasting money on websites that consumers can't find.
A survey of 400 smaller businesses found they did not promote their websites on search engines because they thought the process was too costly, complicated and time-consuming, Ananova reported.
Microsoft said that having a website was no longer enough - firms had to actively direct consumers to it.
