Concern over temporary workers' PC access
Firms are failing to recognise the security risks associated with giving temporary staff the same level of access to business documents as permanent employees.
A survey of temporary staff by software security business Websense found 88% could access documents from a business's network drive, 62% had used someone else's login details, 52% had used another worker's e-mail account and 81% had unrestricted access to the Internet from their work PC.
Just 21% of temporary staff had signed a PC or web use policy, Out-Law.com reported.
