Business confidence at two-year low
Business confidence has fallen to its lowest level in two years, according to research from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).
Its latest Business Confidence Monitor (BCM) said the credit squeeze, the slowing housing market and higher interest rates are behind the fall in sentiment.
All business sizes, sectors and regions are affected by the downturn, even though the economy is growing by around 3% annually.
