Welsh entrepreneurs say no to high-tech biz

The leisure and service industries, rather than new technology, are the most popular areas for young Welsh entrepreneurs starting out in business.

It's estimated that 900 businesses were started in Wales by people aged under 25 during the first half of the year. The figure comes from Barclays, which says it's the highest number since it started collecting these statistics in 2003.

It found construction, hairdressing, restaurants and leisure were the most popular areas for young businesspeople starting up. Just 3% opted for computer-based businesses, icWales reported.
