Spooky celebration attracts shoppers
Hallowe'en is now the most lucrative trading period after Christmas and Easter, according to new figures.
Britons now spend £120 million celebrating 31 October, information provider Planet Retail's research revealed. The figure has grown from £12 million in 2001.
Hallowe'en is now generating more spending than Bonfire Night and Valentine's Day. Asda has sold 80,000 more pumpkins so far this year compared to last, a 172% increase, The Guardian reported.
