Small firms don't know their debts
More than a third of smaller businesses don't know how much they owe - and how much is owed to them.
More than half also admitted they did not have a system to check whether an invoice was overdue.
The survey was carried out by accounting software company KashFlow.
A spokesman said:
"I was really shocked that in the 21st Century, when advances in technology means that people can work out their finances at the click of a button, over a third of small business owners are saying that they don't have a clue how much money they owe or are owed."
