Scottish sales ahead in September
A cool September has paid dividends for Scottish shops, according to the Scottish Retail Consortium (SRC).
Like-for-like sales were up by 3.3% on a year ago, while total sales were 8.3% higher than in September last year.
The like-for-like figure was the best since April, which was boosted by Easter and the warm weather.
The SRC said September's sales were better than the UK average, which saw a 3% growth in like-for-like sales during the month.
