Retail sales rise in London
Retail sales in London increased last month, but at their weakest rate since May.
The London Retail Sales Monitor for September showed a 6.8% year-on-year rise.
It also revealed higher footfall and increased clothing and footwear sales, as cooler weather persuaded shoppers to splash out on winter clothing.
Visitor numbers were also up on a year ago, with Russian and European visitors spending the most.
