Red tape DVD issued
A DVD has been issued showing how bureaucracy affects small firms in the real world.
The DVD, showing interviews with small business owners about what they would do with the estimated seven hours a week it takes them to comply with the demands of red tape, has been out together by the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB).
The FSB has also produced a report to accompany the DVD, airing its concerns that the burden of bureaucracy is stopping enterprises from growing.
A spokeswoman said:
"There is no doubt that the volume and complexity of red tape is excessive. Shorter, simpler regulations will enable businesses to follow the rules more easily as well as protect their existing employees."They will also be able to hire more staff as they use more of their seven lost hours to grow their businesses."
