More postal disruption expected

Businesses that rely on the post are being warned not to breathe a sigh of relief too quickly as a fresh round of industrial action is on the cards.

The latest 48-hour postal strike has ended, but the Communication Workers' Union (CWU) has warned of further strikes next week if it has not reached agreement with the Royal Mail over pay and modernisation plans.

It proposes to call out departments separately for 24 hours at a time, to maximise the chaos, the BBC said.

Royal Mail has apologised to customers for the disruption.
