First planned Post Office closures announced

The Post Office has named the first 180 of 2,500 branches it wants to close by the end of next year.

This first round affects branches in Kent, the East Midlands and East Yorkshire. The Post Office says a further 35 branches could be replaced by outreach services - mobile Post Offices or branches in shops or pubs.

The Government announced last year that 2,500 branches must be closed because of the extent of the Post Office's losses.

To find out which branches are affected, go to the Post Office website.
