Tobacco toolkits for shops
Retailers selling tobacco are to receive a toolkit from the Government to help them inform customers and deal with the increased age limit for buying tobacco.
The legal purchasing age increases from 16 to 18 on 1 October and shopkeepers selling tobacco products to people below that age face fines of up to £2,500.
The kits contain a brochure on complying with the law and guidance for employers and staff, the Association of Convenience Stores (ACS) said.
The Tobacco Age Change website has full details of the forthcoming legislation.
