The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has launched a Ladder Exchange, designed to take unfit ladders out of circulation and to provide reduced price replacements.

The HSE said it was not against using ladders provided they were fit for the job. However, it said businesses should look at other methods to work at height, such as scaffolding.
