Entrepreneurs wanted behind the bar
Pub licensees are being urged to become more entrepreneurial.
Customers now expect a more businesslike approach from their landlords and landladies, according to a study by brewer and pub group Greene King.
It said that rather than the Peggy Mitchell type of licensee, today's landlords and landladies are expected to excel in sales and marketing, human resources and innovation.
Sir Richard Branson, Sir Alan Sugar and Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou were chosen by the survey respondents as the perfect landlords, Business Zone reported.
