Cut-price alcohol crackdown in Scotland
Shops in Scotland are facing legislation to prevent them from selling cut-price alcohol.
The Scottish Government is planning to extend licensing laws to outlaw drink promotions in corner shops and supermarkets.
It is part of a long-term effort to tackle excessive drinking, the BBC reported.
But the Scottish Grocers' Federation said the proposals showed a lack of understanding of how retail businesses work and would lead to even cheaper supermarket alcohol.
