Scots firms expect more red tape
Small businesses in Scotland expect to face more, rather than less, red tape in the future, according to new research.
The report by the Bank of Scotland's business banking arm found almost three-quarters of Scottish entrepreneurs expected the burden of regulation to grow in the next three years.
The study also found that 59% of entrepreneurs believed the weight of regulation was preventing their business from maximising its performance.
And almost two-thirds said they believed the UK implements European rules more aggressively than necessary, The Scotsman reported.
