Late e-mail responses cost new business

Suppliers who fail to respond quickly to business e-mails face losing trade.

One in three firms said they would take their business elsewhere if a supplier did not reply within two hours, a report by Vodafone UK said.

The study found that suppliers were losing an average of £18,000 each time they failed to respond to commercial enquiries.

Some 85% of firms said they had received no response to a new business enquiry, while one in ten said that was a frequent occurrence, Computer Weekly reported.
