Online ads put off customers

Businesses using online adverts or hosting them on their websites should be aware of the negative effects that some of them have on customers.

A new survey by online reference site HowTo.tv has revealed that half of those quizzed had left one of their favourite websites because of intrusive adverts.

It named Channel 4, Google and Yahoo! as examples and said that more that 95% of people who were annoyed by an advert were less likely to purchase the product as a result, The Guardian reported.
