The Green Billboard can be seen by motorists at junction one of the M53 motorway - the main route to and from Liverpool - and is based on a former landfill site.

It's made from a 30m long and 2.5m high hedge of willow and carries the message 'One tree every ten seconds - every ten seconds a new tree is planted in England's Northwest, helping to deliver a greener region'.

It has been put up in partnership with the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA), the Forestry Commission and other partners.
