Guidance on guarding against cybercrime

More than 300 cybercrimes are committed every hour in Britain, according to a new report.

Online identity expert Garlik's UK Cybercrime report found that more than three million cybercrimes were carried out in 2006.

It has issued guidelines to help people avoid identity theft online. They include banning all pop-up adverts on your Internet browser and shredding all bills and documents containing personal information before disposing of them.

The full Cybercrime UK report can be downloaded at Garlik's website.
