Food prices set to rise

The days of low cost food are numbered because of rising wheat prices, it's been claimed.

The warning comes from Premier Foods, which is Britain's biggest food producer and owns brands including Branston Pickle, Mr Kipling and Quorn.

Wheat prices have more that doubled in the past year, while milk products, animal feed, glucose and its by-products are all rising, The Independent reported.

Premier Foods said the trend was "not a blip".
