Firms face lending squeeze
Businesses are likely to find it harder to borrow money due to the turmoil in the financial markets, according to the Bank of England.
A survey of lenders found that conditions for households would probably remain the same, while conditions would tighten for enterprises seeking to borrow money, the BBC reported.
The Bank was commentating on a survey carried out between 20 August and 13 September, which took into account the problems that led to the crisis at Northern Rock.
Lenders said they expected lending to be further reduced in the next three months due to economic conditions.
