Ageism remains rife at work
New laws to combat ageism at work appear to have had little effect, according to a new report.
The Employers Forum on Age said there had been more than 2,000 ageism-related claims lodged with the Employment Tribunal Service since ageism at work was outlawed last year.
However, researchers found 86% of Britons knew that it was illegal to discriminate against people on the grounds of age.
The report also found that 92% of people believe they should be able to work as long as they were capable of doing the job, the BBC reported.
