Third of firms expect to swap ownership
Almost a third of privately owned businesses in Britain are expected to change hands in the next decade.
So says Grant Thornton's International Business Report, which found 33% of private firms in the UK thought they would swap ownership.
That compares to the global average of 28%, according to the study, which looked at 32 countries.
A spokesman said:
"Our findings show an overwhelming expectation of change in the structure of privately held businesses in the coming years."With this in mind, business owners need to start planning for the future and take professional advice on how to best plan an exit from the enterprise."
