Taxman apologises for payment delay
HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) has apologised to small business owners waiting for their £150 tax-free payment earned for filing their Employer's Annual Return online.
The large numbers of people claiming their payment by cheque has led to a delay and HMRC says firms may not receive their cheques until December.
The payment is available to small businesses with fewer than 50 employees.
