FSB calls for transparency from Government
The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) has expressed its opinion on Government proposals to cut red tape for small firms.
According to the FSB, the Government should ensure that regulatory bodies and regulations are transparent, accountable and consistent.
It was reacting to the Draft Regulatory Enforcement and Sanctions Bill and the Draft Regulators' Compliance Code, which aim to reduce the amount of red tape small firms face.
FSB research revealed that small businesses spend around 28 hours a month completing forms.
FSB spokesman John Walker said:
"We welcome the Government signalling its intention to reduce the administrative burden on small businesses but we have heard similar noises in the past. It is time for action to follow words so that small firms can spend less time filling in forms and more time creating jobs."
