A report carried out by Australian scientists at the Queensland University of Technology said some printers may damage people's health in the same way as cigarette smoke.

The report said some models emit tiny particles of printer toner which can penetrate the lungs and cause breathing problems.

Lawyers say if the research is verified, it could lead to thousands of claims under health and safety laws, Out-Law.com reported.
